Most Expensive Golf Balls

Most Expensive Golf Balls

The focus of this article will be the most expensive conforming, non-special edition, and non-personalized golf balls.

That said, the most expensive golf balls I could find are made by a company called Attomax.

I want to be clear: These balls are not USGA and R&A conforming!

They are illegal to use in competition and should not be used during any round you are posting for your handicap.

They are designed to fly significantly further than all conforming golf balls and using one of these in any form of competition would be considered cheating.

They are an absurd $250 per dozen or $20.80 per ball!

What Is A Conforming Golf Ball?

A conforming golf ball is one that has been tested within the past 12 months and found to conform to the rules of golf as established by the USGA and R&A.

The USGA and R&A maintain a list of conforming golf balls.

My Criteria For Most Expensive Golf Balls

The criteria to make this list is as follows:

  • Must be on the USGA and R&A conforming list
  • Must be sold in packs of 12
  • Must be “base” model, meaning I will not be including personalized or special edition golf balls. For example, Titleist is currently selling a special St. Paddy’s Day Prov1 ball with the number 17 and a shamrock on it. Balls like this (as they are slightly more expensive) will not be included.
  • Must be the current year (2023) model
  • All prices were taken from the manufacturer’s website.
  • Non-RCT (radar capture technology) ball

For those of you hoping to save some money, the good news is that all of these balls are designed for better, high speed swinging players. This means that there is no need for the majority of you to be spending this much money on golf balls.

All of the balls on this list are designed to fly lower and spin less, the exact opposite of what most mid-high handicap golfers need.

Most mid-handicappers and up need help getting the ball higher in the air.

All of these balls are designed to do the exact opposite.

In other words, all of these golf balls don’t fit the game of a slower swinging, higher handicap player.

In fact, I would be willing to wager a significant amount of money that most recreational players that currently play any of the balls listed below would see immediate improvements in distance and overall play if they switched to a ball that is better suited to their game and swing speed.
