Played 5 or 6 full rounds this month. Scores ranged from 84-92.

Had the worst putting day of my life one of the days. Typically my strokes gained putting is -1.0 to -2.0. That day it was -5.6.

Took two lessons that both went well. Worked on the driver almost exclusively.

Also got fitted into the new Stealth Plus 2 8 ° driver. My spin and trajectory were much better (lower) with that driver head vs my Sim Max 2.

Approach shots continue to be the worst part of my game.

I will spend a large part of my practice time in February working on a alignment.

Short game was worse by .4.

Putting improved by .5

Top 3 Insights

Approach shots are still the worst part of my game by far.

Scoring Averages

Par 5s are still my worst. Driving accuracy is improving but I still lose a ball or two on par 5s each round.

My goal each round this month (February) has been to minimize doubles or worse. I have yet to play a full 18 hole round without at least one double or worse.

Didn’t post any scores in January so no change.

Starting next month I will add a strokes gained comparison each month using Arccos stats. Since I just switched to using a 20 round average I won’t include that this month.

February Focus

Lessons will continue every other week through Feb/March.

Planning to play at least four full 18 hole rounds to get some accurate scores and Arccos stats.

Will also focus on range time to dial in swing as well as getting out on the course more and practicing actual shots, mainly approaches.

A significant part of my problem with approach shots is alignment and aim. It’s very easy for me on the range but very difficult for me to be consistent with it on the course.

My goal is to get approach shots under -3.0 for strokes gained within the next two months.

Within the next 3-4 months, my goal is to get driving under -1.0. With my length off the tee, it shouldn’t be very hard once I get some control over my accuracy.

I will also spend at least an hour or two a week working on my pitching and chipping.
