Weather was unusually bad this month, and the course was closed for at least half the month. With my work schedule, the holidays, and the course being closed, I didn’t play nearly as much as I wanted to.
Had two lessons that both went well. Learned a lot and was able to implement most of what I was taught.
Played 4 or 5 times, usually only nine holes.
A few times with the wife, and a few times just hitting multiple balls and trying different shots.
Practiced for about four hours in total. Practice meaning anything other than being on the course: hitting balls at the range, working on short game, putting, etc.
All Arccos stats are the same as last month, as the few times I played, I didn’t use Arccos.

Top 3 Insights
Clearly, approach shots are my biggest issue right now. July-September, I was messing with my swing a lot and was very inconsistent with my irons
Scoring Averages
Par 5s are clearly my worst. This is mostly due to lost balls on drives, either OB or in the woods.

January Focus
Lessons will continue every other week through Feb/March.
Hopefully will spend a lot of time practicing and occasionally playing.
The goal for January is to work on my takeaway (it’s too inside) and reduce my over-the-top motion. It used to be horrible and is now minor, but I’d still like to eliminate it and have a slight in-to-out swing path.
I will also spend at least an hour or two a week working on my pitching and chipping.
Goals For The Year
- Break 80 from the tips at my home course.
- Get index under 7.0
- Post at least 50 rounds, hopefully closer to 100.
- Shoot 37 or better for 9. (38 is my current best for 9 holes).
- Make at least 1 eagle.
